Indian Family Health Clinic (Great Falls)
After the passage of the HELP Act, Indian Family Health Clinic (IFHC) has seen a remarkable 112% increase in patients, allowing us to provide comprehensive services to our community, particularly the AI/AN population in North Central Montana.
Since 2015, we have expanded hours, added two new primary care providers and a walk-in provider, and built a robust integrated behavioral health program. We have grown from one licensed addiction counselor to a team that now includes multiple therapists, a psychiatric nurse practitioner, and a behavioral health registered nurse. Furthermore, Medicaid funding has allowed us to support the Cascade County Detention Center by conducting mental health evaluations for inmates, particularly focusing on AI/AN individuals.
The positive impact of expanded Medicaid is undeniable, and the need for continued and strengthened Medicaid support is critical to maintaining and growing these essential services for our patients.
